About Me

Always a biologist at heart, I took a brief breather from research (for about 30 years) in order to raise my family, teach school and program computers. Now, with my children grown and gone, I decided it's time to get back into education and limnology. I'm finishing up my thesis on invasive species in freshwater systems. I prefer freshwater invertebrates, but I'm happy to work with or talk about just about any critter, be it Bluegill, Daphnia or algae.

  • Raised on a farm outside of Dodge City, Kansas.
  • Graduated from Saint Mary of the Plains in Dodge City, Kansas in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
  • Graduated from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas in 1990 with a Master of Science in Secondary Education Administration specializing in Curriculum Development
  • Developed curriculum and instructed high school and college courses for 10 years.
